Galvalume steel sheet offers the best qualities of aluminum coated (aluminized) and zinc coated steel sheet (galvanized). The aluminum/zinc coating has barrier corrosion resistance and heat resistance similar to aluminum coated steel. It also has good bare edge galvanic protection and forming qualities similar to continuously annealed commercial quality galvanized. The appearance of Galvalume coating is quite distinctive.
Galvalume has barrier corrosion resistance and heat resistance similar to aluminized material and good bare edge galvanic protection and forming qualities like galvanized material. Consequently, Galvalume and Galvalume Plus will resist rust, the elements and fire while providing a sturdy and protective covering.
Galvalume: Aluminum has tremendous corrosion resistance, so it will generally corrode more slowly than galvanized steel. The one exception is when the coating is penetrated scratched or chipped by falling or blowing debris, for example.
Galvalume steel is coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy that combines the corrosion protection of aluminum with the galvanic protection of zinc. Product Inquiry Custom coil and/or sheet sizes available upon request.
The galvalume & aluzinc steel sheet in coil uses the cold-rolled steel sheet as a substrate and solidified by 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon at 600 C. It combines the physical protection and high durability of aluminum and the electrochemical protection of zinc. It is also called aluzinc steel coil.
We supply a variety of coated steel sheet and coil products, including hot dipped, electro galvanized, aluminized, galvannealed and galvalume. Our value-added service capabilities include slitting, shearing, blanking, stretcher leveling, degreasing and brushing and metallurgical support.
Galvalume refers to a type of proprietary steel coating that consists of about 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon. Due to this composition, it is highly effective in protecting other base metals from corrosion and the elements.
These corrugations give the sheet more strength and stability when it is installed as a roof. The patented Galvalume process invented by Bethlehem Steel in 1972 is similar to galvanization, but also adds aluminum and silicon to the zinc. As the coating dries, patches of aluminum and zinc molecules coalesce into a pattern across the surface of the sheet.
Welcome to Galvalume BIEC International Inc. is the worldwide licensor of the technology and know-how associated with 55% Aluminum-Zinc alloy coated sheet steel (better known as GALVALUME). A measure of the success of this program is the fact that virtually all of the major steel companies worldwide have become licensees of BIEC.
Aluminized steel Aluminized steel is steel that has been hot-dip coated on both sides with aluminium - silicon alloy. This process assures a tight metallurgical bond between the steel sheet and its aluminium coating, producing a material with a unique combination of properties possessed neither by steel nor by aluminium alone.
About Galvanized Galvanized Sheet is carbon steel sheet coated with zinc on two sides by a continuous hot-dip process. This method tightly adheres the coating to the steel with an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer formed by a diffusion process while the heated steel strip is in contact with the molten zinc.
The most commonly used coated sheet steel products in the metal building industry today are hot-dip galvanized (HDG), 55% aluminum-zinc alloy-coated (GALVALUME 1 Coated Steel), hot-dip galvannealed (HDGA), zinc-5% aluminum alloy-coated (GALFAN 2 Coated Steel), and Type 2 aluminum-coated steel.
Galvalume is primarily used to protect iron-based alloys that are prone to rust. Galvalume-coated steel is better able to resist oxidation than plain carbon steel because the zinc and aluminum protect the underlying steel from the environment. The zinc also will more readily oxidize than the steel it contacts. This is similar to galvanized steel.
Introduction to Galvalume NS Wheeling-Nisshin's GALVALUME steel sheet combines the excellent barrier corrosion protection of aluminum with the galvanic protection of zinc. Its corrosion resistance far exceeds that of galvanized, is suitable for applications where rust prevention is imperative, has superior flatness, uniform spangle and is an excellent surface suitable for painting.
At that time, gauges were used to describe the diameter of the metal wire being drawn. Since then, it has remained a prevalent method of designating the thickness of both wire and sheet metal. environments. The Galvalume coating is an alloy composed of 55% aluminum and approximately 45% zinc by weight. It is applied on both sides of cold-rolled steel sheet using a precise continuous hot dip process. The result is highly corrosion resistant coated steel that combines the barrier protection and extended durability of aluminum
Alliance Steels aluminized steel sheet and coil service capabilities include slitting, shearing, blanking, stretcher leveling, degreasing and brushing and metallurgical support. For more information about aluminized steel sheet and coil products, contact Alliance Steel.
Galvalume is aluminum and zinc coated steel. The combination of aluminum and zinc is used once again as a protective layer to the steel. Steel exposed by itself without other protective metal coatings such as aluminum or zinc turns a reddish- or yellowish-brown flaky coating of iron oxide that is formed on iron or steel by oxidation, especially in the presence of moisture.

Conditions Corrosive to Hot-Dip Galvanized And GALVALUME Coated Steel Sheet Hot-Dip Galvanize (HDG) and GALVALUME 1 Coated Steel Sheet are intended for applications where excellent corrosion resistance is required. The metallic coatings provide barrier and galvanic protection to the steel. However, under
Galvalume is a carbon steel that has been coated with aluminum-zinc alloy (55% aluminum, 45% zinc) after going through a continuous hot-dip process. Galvalume is ideally suited for roofing and siding applications, also including cutters and pipes as well as automotive parts and appliances.
What is Galvalume Roofing Material? One roofing material that stands above the rest for high quality, longevity and durability is galvalume. This superior roofing material, also used as siding, is actually sheets of steel, coated with a composition of 45% zinc and 55% aluminum. This coating acts as an excellent protection against corrosion.
In Comparison of Corrosion Resistance With Galvanized Steel (GI (H)) and Galvalume (Galvalume) The corrosion resistance of this zinc aluminum magnesium alloy coated steel sheet is 5 to 10 times higher than that of the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. And is also better than galvalume steel sheets on corrosion resistance property.
Acrylic-Coated Galvalume Acrylic-Coated Galvalume (ACG) is a coated sheet product that combines the corrosion resistance of Galvalume steel sheet with a clear acrylic coating that is applied over Galvalume substrate.
